Is that your real name, or a pen name?
Christie Silvers is my real name. I was Christie Grant before marrying the love of my life, Tim Silvers, and I've been Christie Silvers since April 9, 1994.
Are you planning to write more books in the Alex & Fiona series?
At this time I don't have any new Alex & Fiona books planned. However, there's no telling what will come to me in the future.
Where do you come up with your story ideas?
Many of my ideas come to me in my dreams. Others will hit me while I'm watching or reading something. Yet others will hit me when I see things happening in real life, and then I put my paranormal spin on it.
Is Liz Baker based on you?
Yes, and no. I do have a love of nail polish, though Liz has a bigger, better collection. I'm a bit sassy, but not nearly as blunt about it as Liz.
Romance or urban fantasy?
I consider myself a writer of paranormal fiction. However, the Alex & Fiona series leans more toward paranormal romance and the Liz Baker series is urban fantasy.
There's an error on page # --- in book ****. Should I let you know?
No. There is a high probability that someone has already pointed that error out to me. And if they haven't, I'm sure someone won't read these FAQs and will e-mail me anyway. All books have errors and as long as you like the storyline that's all that matters. We're only human afterall.
I saw you on Facebook, Twitter, MySpace, etc. Is it okay to friend you?
Of course! Friend away! I love new friends. If you see me somewhere like that and want to friend me, go right ahead. I generally approve anyone who sends a request, unless there's a vulgar profile picture, or they're an outright spammer (I can tell).
Will you read/edit my manuscript? Will you help me write a story? I have this great idea, do you want to write it?
The simple answer is no. Between my own writing, my children, husband, numerous pets, extended family and online friends, I simply do not have the time or energy for your projects or story ideas. If you have an idea that you think would make a good story, write it! All stories start out as an idea, it's up to you to build on it.
Will you agree to be on my podcast, do an interview, be a guest blogger, etc.?
Of course! I love doing interviews and guest blogging stints. I never know what questions I'll be asked; it's interesting to see what unique questions people will come up with. Just drop me an e-mail to work out the details.
Can I advertise on your website/blog/newsletter? Can we exchange banners/links?
Okay, here's where I have a particular set of personal rules. I hate ads all over sites, especially author sites. Over the years, I've come to the conclusion that I will not put ads on my website. However, I will, and do, happily exchange links with other authors. I have a Links page just for that. And if you're an author and want to do a banner exchange, I'll do that too. So basically, no, you can't buy or exchange for advertising space, but if you're an author I'll happily exchange links.
If you have a question that you think should be here, feel free to e-mail me at email@example.com . Put "FAQs" in the subject line so I won't mistaken it for junk mail.
